Utilizarea pe termen lung a telefoanelor mobile poate creste riscul dezvoltarii de tumori cerebrale, potrivit celui mai recent studiu realizat in Suedia, in contradictie cu concluziile altor cercetatori
Anul trecut, Dutch Health Council, a efectuat un studiu in care nu a descoperit nici un indiciu ca radiatiile de la telefoanele mobile si turnurile de televiziune ar fi daunatoare. Un studiu de patru ani realizat de britanici, de asemenea, nu a gasit nici o legatura intre utilizarea pe termen indelungat a telefonului mobil si cele mai comune tipuri de tumori.	Insa cercetatorii de la Swedish National Institute for Working Life au studiat utilizarea telefonului mobil la un numar de 2.200 de pacienti bolnavi de cancer si un numar egal de persoane sanatoase. Dintre pacientii cu cancer, cu varste intre 20 si 80 ani, 905 au dezvoltat o tumora cerebrala maligna si aproximativ o zecime din ei erau si utilizatorii frecventi ai telefoanelor mobile.
"Dintre aceste 905 cazuri, 85 au fost asa-numitii utilizatori grei ai telefoanelor mobile, asta insemnand ca au inceput devreme sa utilizeze telefoanele mobile si/sau telefoanele wireless si le-au utilizat foarte mult", a spus autorii studiului.	Publicat in International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health, studiul defineste utilizarea grea a telefonului mobil ca peste 2.000 de ore, ce corespund "unei utilizari timp de zece ani la locul de munca, timp de o ora pe zi". Utilizarea timpurie a fost definita ca inceperea utilizarii telefonului mobil inainte de varsta de 20 ani.
De asemenea s-a descoperit o crestere marcata a riscului de tumori pe partea capului pe care s-a utilizat de obicei telefonul. Studiul a luat in calcul si alti factori precum fumantul, tipul de munca depus si alti agenti.	Kjell Mild, conducatorul studiului, a mentionat ca cifrele arata o crestere de 240% a riscului unui tumori maligne pe partea capului unde s-a utilizat telefonul la utilizatorii grei de telefoane mobile.
Mild a spus ca acest studiu a fost cel mai mare de pana acum al utilizatorilor de telefoane wireless, care sunt prezente in forma portabila in Suedia din 1984, cu mult mai devreme decat in alte tari.
